Washington Blvd/Westover

Westover is located towards the western corner of Arlington County along Washington Boulevard. Westover is another community with an agrarian past.  Land records date back to the Early 1700’s however the oldest known connection to the land goes back to Henry Febrey, who bought land here prior to the Civil War. His land was sold off during the 1920’s and Westover became more developed. While the community has grown considerably since the 1950’s Westover has never lost its allure.

Quality of Life:

Westover exudes a village-like ambiance that is hard to match. Residents enjoy boutique shops and unassumingly delicious eateries. It is a cohesive, friendly community where people more or less know each other by name.

Westover Park offers residents roughly five acres of green space, ball fields and basketball courts. The Preston King Post Office and the community's new library are centrally located on Washington Boulevard. Westover is also home to some of Arlington's favorite restaurants such as Lost Dog, Stray Cat, Lebanese Taverna and Thai Noy. There is also the Westover Beer Garden is a one of a kind spot to enjoy signature beers and listed to live music, located off the Westover Market. Ayres Variety and Hardware is known in town as the "place you can find anything." The Westover Barber shop is famous for their kid's haircuts, where you will find the walls lined with photos of Arlington's youngster's first haircuts by Miss Annie and Mr. Tran. The treats at Westover are never ending.

Getting Around:

Westover is accessible by Metro bus. The East Falls Church Metro rail station is minutes away. Washington Boulevard courses through the community and into Arlington's Metro corridor. I-66 is ideal for those driving to and from work. Westover’s location also makes getting to and from Bailey’s Crossroads and Tyson’s Corner fairly easy.
